NSKids Minister

NSKids Vision: To lead kids to know, love, and follow Jesus on their level and to help kids love church.

      I.  Summary of the position:
To provide leadership, vision, and direction that creates a life giving atmosphere of vibrant and discipleship and evangelism for the children, parents, and children’s ministry team at Northstar Church.  The Children’s Minister will oversee the church-wide direction of Northstar Kids across both campuses.  This oversight includes direct responsibility for NSKids birth through 6th grate and NSKids Volunteers. 

 

    II. Experience and Knowledge Required:
· Ability to communicate the Gospel through various means to children at various ages.
· Leadership background and experience serving with kids.  Heart for children and parents.
· Proven ability to lead staff and Volunteers.
· Ability to articulate and implement the vision of Northstar Church.
· Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
· Interpersonal skills working with a variety of people from Volunteer members to parents to kids.
· Solid theological grounding.
· Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving. 
· Computer competency in Planning Center, Microsoft Office, etc.
· Strong organizational and time management.

   

   III. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Oversee and organize children’s ministry across all Northstar campuses in coordination with the Tupelo Campus Minister.
· Oversee implementation of policies throughout all locations and enforce compliance.
· Oversee training processes for nursery, preschool, kids, and special needs ministry leaders and Volunteer members.
· Work closely with ministry leaders at each campus and analyze effectiveness of programming and adjust as needed.
· Lead and build teams to execute all aspects of children’s ministry for weekend services.
· Recruit, develop and train high quality leaders for Volunteer roles.
· Consistent communication with key leaders and parents.
· Develop healthy community among parents and equip parents for discipleship through Sunday and Life group experience.
· Oversee all aspects of department administration to include: Budget forecasting, purchasing, purchase order processing.
· Responsible for staffing/recruitment of Volunteers.
· Help maintain all security standards.
· Oversee and develop the Sunday experience for all children.
· Implement curriculum for children that reflects the teaching of Northstar.
· Oversee special event planning to include Summer Blast, Fall Fest, LFR Camp, Family Advent events, Baby Dedication, KidFaith, & Volunteer appreciation events.
· Fulfill ministerial duties as needed including counseling, baptism, communion, hospital visitation, and etc.
· Lead meetings and empower the NSKids team to fulfill their unique roles
· Maintain strong communication with pastors/elders, NSKids volunteer team, and parents.
