Northstar became the Sending Church for Cross Culture Community Church in May 2016. 

A Sending Church takes responsibility for a church plant, serving as its primary partner until it is able to stand on its own and is self-supporting, self-governing and self-reproducing. A Supporting Church comes alongside the plant and the Sending Church with prayer, participation and provision.

Cross Community Church is a church plant that meets in Marrero, La. Pastor Troy Gause and Cross Community Church started meeting on Sunday, July 31, 2016, as a core group. For following eight months, they met in the home of a family in their core group to worship, vision cast, pray, and hear from the Lord. Cross Community Church exists to Glorify God by making disciple makers in communities who manifest God’s kingdom by loving Jesus, leading well, and living the Gospel. The church plant is growing spiritually and numerically. On April 30, 2023 the church united with Ames Blvd. Baptist. Both congregations merged together, restructuring as a replant, under a new name Cross Community Church. Because of the merge, they now have permanent facilities.
