The tomb is empty. And O the overflow of that single event. It was the cosmic Yes! from God the Father that the death had done all it was meant to do. After His death on the cross, Jesus rose, conquering sin, Satan and death. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, preparing a place for those who trust in Him. We all have our moments when we overestimate our devotion to God, trust ourselves instead of his word, and deny the one we love. There may not be a rooster’s crow to break the silence of our pride, but how sweet is the sound of grace. The trial that would lead to Christ’s death would become the catalyst for his resurrection and thus the anchor by which we all can say — without shame — that we are disciples of the living God in whose name we are kept forever.
